Summary

AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops is a medicine with the combination of Levosalbutamol, Ambroxol and Guaifenesin that is used to relieve productive cough, sore throat and asthma in children. It helps to relieve symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, breathing difficulties, coughing, etc. It works by dissolving thick mucus in the airways and relaxing the airway muscles and enables easy breathing in your child.

AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops shows some common side effects like headache, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms usually subside after your child's body adapts to this medication. However, if these effects persist or become severe, contact your child's doctor immediately.

AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops can be given with or without food. Prefer giving it with food to avoid stomach irritation. The dose and duration are determined by the paediatrician based on your child's weight and age. Do not stop using this medicine even if your child feels better after taking few doses, because abrupt discontinuation may lead to worsening of your child's condition. Also do not give this medicine in more quantities to get fast relief as overdosing may lead to severe side effects.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a condition in which there is an increase in blood sugar levels. It is of two types, Type 1 (insulin-dependent ) and Type 2 (non-insulin-dependent). In infants and children Type 1 diabetes is seen. If your child is diagnosed with diabetes, take caution while giving AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops as this medication may produce a slight increase in blood sugar levels. Monitor your child's blood sugar levels regularly.

Hypokalemia

Hypokalemia is a decrease in blood potassium levels. Give AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops with caution as it may worsen your child's condition.

Kidney diseases

If your child has a kidney problems, take caution while giving AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops. It is recommended to monitor the kidney function of your child on a regular basis.

How it works

AMBELITE™-LS JUNIOR Drops contains levosalbutamol, ambroxol and guaifenesin. Levosalbutamol works by relaxing the smooth muscles and opens the blocked air passages thereby improves the amount of airflow to the lungs. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that makes mucous (phlegm) thinner and helps in expelling out easily. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps in relieving productive cough by decreasing the stickiness of the mucous in the airways.
