Summary
TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide, Amlodipine and Telmisartan. It is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension is a condition in which the force exerted by blood against the blood vessel walls is high, which increases the risk of heart complications such as heart attack and stroke (damage to the brain due to low blood supply). It relaxes the blood vessels by widening them and promotes smooth blood flow. It also increases the excretion of water and sodium, thus resulting in decreased blood pressure.
TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet has some common side effects like swelling in your ankles or feet, dizziness, headache, tiredness, stomach upset etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects persists or worsens.
TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor. You should not stop taking TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet without consulting your doctor as it can lead to serious heart conditions. It is also not recommended as initial therapy for high blood pressure. It is best to take this medicine at least 4 hours before going to bed as this medicine increases your frequency of urination.

Allergy

Aliskiren

This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and/or if you have diabetes and kidney problems.
Anuria
Anuria is a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine. TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet can lead to a loss of electrolytes like sodium and potassium, magnesium ions, etc. from your body. This may further lead to kidney damage.

Hyperkalaemia

Dosage
Missed Dose
If you forget to take a dose of TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at your usual time. Do not double up your dose.
Overdose

Hypotension
TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet may cause a decrease in blood pressure. The risk is high if you have conditions such as volume depletion (excess loss of salt and fluid in the body due to excessive vomiting, diarrhoea, burns, kidney problems, etc.) or if you are treated with high-dose diuretics (medications that increases the removal of water and salt from the body via urine).
Hyperlipidaemia
Hyperlipidaemia is a condition in which there is an increase in the level of fat or lipids in the blood. TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet should be used with caution as it can increase your cholesterol levels and may worsen your condition.
Food interactions
Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with TELSORIX™ AMH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet. Grapefruit juice can increase the absorption of this medicine in your blood. This could lead to excessive lowering of blood pressure or worsen the side effects.
