Summary

Spazitol™ Suspension is composed of Dicyclomine and Simethicone. It is used to treat numerous stomach problems like bloating, cramping, belching and other gastrointestinal problems (disorders of the stomach and intestines).

Spazitol™ Suspension is commonly used in infants (children up to one year of age) above six months of age. It works by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and intestines and easing the passage of gas.

Spazitol™ Suspension shows side effects like constipation, burping, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. Do not use this medicine if your child is allergic to it. Consult your doctor if the side effects are persistent or bothering your child. Spazitol™ Suspension can cause drowsiness in your child. Hence, avoid activities that require mental attention while your child is taking this medicine.

Spazitol™ Suspension is usually taken before food or as instructed by your child's doctor. Give this medicine at the same time every day such that a constant level of medicine can be maintained in your child's body. Do not stop giving this medicine without consulting your child's doctor as the symptoms may reoccur.

Spazitol™ Suspension should be given with caution if your child has kidney or heart disorders. Inform your doctor about all your child's current medications including any herbs and/or supplements as they can interact with this medicine and cause side effects.

What is it prescribed for?

  • Abdominal pain

Abdominal or stomach pain can occur due to muscle cramps caused due to excessive strain on the stomach or intestinal muscles, accumulation of gas, indigestion, binge eating or constipation. Spazitol™ Suspension is used in children to relieve abdominal pain and other symptoms such as bloating, belching, stomach discomfort, etc., associated with spasms of the muscles in the stomach and intestines.

  • Colicky pains

Colicky pain is sharp and localized pain that starts and stops abruptly. It mainly occurs due to muscle contractions of organs such as the intestines, rectum, gallbladder, and ureter due to obstruction. Spazitol™ Suspension is used to stop sudden muscle contractions or spasms and relieves colicky pain in children.

  • Irritable bowel syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome is a long term problem that affects the intestines and colon. Spazitol™ Suspension is used to relieve pain due to this condition .

Signs and symptoms like rashes, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), fever, or other allergic symptoms should be reported to your doctor immediately. The treatment should be discontinued if these symptoms appear.

Drowsiness

Terbinafine Tablets IP 250 MG Suspension may cause sleepiness and dizziness in some children.

Use in children

Terbinafine Tablets IP 250 MG Suspension is not used in infants under the age of 6 months as the safety and efficacy data of this medicine has not been established in that age group.
