Summary
ParaSelix™-DS (commonly called acetaminophen suspension) is an over-the-counter (OTC) medication used as first-line therapy for the treatment of fever and pain. It provides fast and effective relief from headaches, toothaches, backaches, menstrual pain, musculoskeletal pain associated with/without fever. It acts by decreasing the intensity of pain signals to the brain and preventing the release of substances that increases pain and body temperature.
ParaSelix™-DS is generally well tolerated but may cause side effects like stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. It is safe to use this medicine within the recommended dosage but long-term overdose may lead to liver damage. When ParaSelix™-DS is used along with anti-seizure medications, anaesthetics, and barbiturates, it can cause liver problems. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you have any liver or kidney conditions as this medicine can worsen them.
ParaSelix™-DS should be taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. You should maintain a 6-hour gap between each dose. ParaSelix™-DS is safe to use in children, pregnant and breastfeeding women. The dose and strength of this medicine depend on the age and body weight of the children (1-5 years: 125 mg, 5-12 years: 250-500mg). This medicine can cause the alcohol-paracetamol syndrome, a condition that causes severe damage to your liver. Do not consume alcohol while on treatment with this medication.

ParaSelix™-DS is being provided by vaccinators for the treatment of fever, local pain, and swelling that sets in after a vaccine has been administered.

Allergy

Kidney diseases
A long term use with higher doses of some painkillers may harm normal kidney function. Even though ParaSelix™-DS is the safest painkiller available for use by people with kidney disease, it is not recommended for use if you are affected by kidney disease associated with excessive use of painkillers. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have kidney problems.
Severe liver disease
Use ParaSelix™-DS with extreme caution if you have liver disease. This medicine gets converted to its active form in the liver. Therefore, by using large amounts of this medicine, more active forms are formed which may lead to liver damage. The use of this medicine is generally not recommended if you have severe liver diseases because it can further increase the risk of liver damage.

ParaSelix™-DS can cause the alcohol-paracetamol syndrome, a condition that causes severe damage to your liver. Do not consume alcohol while on treatment with this medication. Your doctor will suggest tests (LFT) to assess your liver function. The daily dose of ParaSelix™-DS to be limited to 2 grams per day due to the risk of liver diseases. Care should be taken to minimize the chances of overdose.

5-HIAA Urine Test

General Instructions
Take ParaSelix™-DS as advised by your doctor. Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose of ParaSelix™-DS using a measuring spoon or dropper as exactly advised by the doctor.
