ETHRON - XT SYRUP

Ferrous Fumarate,Cyanocobalamin, Folic Acid & Zinc Sulphate Syrup

PACKING SIZE / TYPE

200 ml with Box & PP Cap, Plain Silver, GMP Printed Amber Bottle

Summary

ETHRON-XT Syrup is a health supplement designed to address iron deficiency anemia and support overall health by combining Ferrous Fumarate, Cyanocobalamin, Folic Acid, and Zinc Sulphate. This syrup is particularly effective for individuals needing additional iron, vitamin B12, folic acid, and zinc to maintain optimal blood health and prevent anemia-related symptoms like fatigue and weakness.

Side Effects

Though ETHRON-XT Syrup is generally well tolerated, some users may experience mild to moderate side effects, including:

  • Nausea or upset stomach
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Dark stools (a common effect with iron supplements)
  • Headache or dizziness
  • Unusual taste in the mouth

If any severe reactions occur, such as severe allergic responses or persistent side effects, consult a healthcare provider.

Usage

  • Dosage: Take ETHRON-XT Syrup as directed by your healthcare provider, typically once or twice daily after meals to minimize stomach discomfort.
  • Administration: Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dosage with a proper measuring device/spoon. Avoid mixing with tea or coffee, which can reduce iron absorption.
  • Duration of Use: Follow your doctor’s recommendations, especially for long-term use, and do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Concerns

  • Iron Overload: Prolonged, unmonitored use can lead to excess iron in the body, especially in people with conditions like hemochromatosis.
  • Vitamin B12 Deficiency Masking: Folic acid may mask a B12 deficiency, so it’s essential to use this product under medical supervision, especially if you’re at risk for low B12.

When not to use?

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to ferrous fumarate, other iron supplements or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Hemosiderosis

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with hemosiderosis (a condition of excess iron in the body) due to the risk of adverse effects.

Hemochromatosis

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with hemochromatosis (a condition of excess iron in the body) due to the risk of adverse effects.

Hemolytic anemia

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with hemolytic anemia (a condition of an abnormal breakdown of red blood cells) unless an iron-deficient state is also present.

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Generally safe during pregnancy, but consult your doctor for proper dosage.
  • Children and Infants: Use only under pediatric supervision.
  • Allergic Reactions: Discontinue use if any signs of an allergic reaction appear, such as rash, itching, or breathing difficulties.

Dosage

The usual dosage may vary by age, gender, and medical need. Typical adult dosage ranges from 5–15 ml daily after meals. Always follow the prescribed dosage.

Interactions

  • Medications: Certain antibiotics, antacids, and thyroid medications can interfere with iron absorption. Allow a gap of at least 2 hours before or after taking such medications.
  • Food Interactions: Avoid dairy products, caffeine, and calcium supplements near the time of dosing, as they can reduce iron absorption.
  • Alcohol and Smoking: Alcohol can reduce the absorption of nutrients, while smoking increases the need for B12, so it’s advisable to limit these.
