Summary

The combination of Rabeprazole 20 Mg & Levosulpiride 75 Mg is indicated for the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders, particularly those associated with gastric acid hypersecretion and gastric motility disturbances.

Usage

Take ETHRAB - LSR Capsule as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Typically, the capsule is taken orally with or without food. For optimal results, take it at the same time every day to help remember. Do not crush or chew the capsule. Swallow it whole.

  • For GERD: One capsule once daily, preferably before a meal.
  • For Peptic Ulcers: One capsule once daily, preferably before breakfast.
  • For Functional Dyspepsia: One capsule daily.

Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

Concerns

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using ETHRAB - LSR Capsule. Rabeprazole is classified as pregnancy category C, and its safety during pregnancy is not fully established.

  • Kidney and Liver Problems: If you have kidney or liver disorders, special caution should be exercised. Dosage adjustments may be necessary. Consult your healthcare provider before starting the medication.

  • Long-term Use: Prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors may increase the risk of bone fractures, especially in individuals over 50 years of age. It is important to use the medication for the prescribed duration only.

When not to use?

Do not use ETHRAB - LSR Capsule if you:

  • Are allergic to any ingredient in the medication.
  • Have severe liver or kidney impairment.
  • Have a history of bleeding disorders or gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Are taking other medications that interact with either Rabeprazole or Levosulpiride.
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a doctor.

Warnings

Patients should be monitored for signs of extrapyramidal symptoms or other neurological effects, especially when using levosulpiride for an extended duration. This medication combination should be used with caution in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias, as levosulpiride may prolong the QT interval. Taking this medicine for a long time may make it harder for your body to absorb vitamin B12. Tell your doctor if you have concerns about vitamin B12 deficiency. This medicine may cause hypomagnesemia (low magnesium in the blood). Your doctor may check your blood levels if you are taking this medicine for more than 1 year Patients with a history of psychiatric disorders should be monitored closely for changes in mood or behavior while taking levosulpiride. Levosulpiride+ Rabeprazole Capsule SR is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole capsule SR may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Dosage

The usual recommended dosage for ETHRAB - LSR Capsule is:

  • Adults: One capsule (20 mg Rabeprazole + 75 mg Levosulpiride) once daily.
  • Elderly: Dose adjustment may be necessary based on renal and hepatic function.

Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for the correct dosage based on your medical condition.

Interactions

Drug-Drug Interactions: Rabeprazole 20 Mg & Levosulpiride 75 Mg may interact with a blood thinner (warfarin), anti-cancer (methotrexate), cardiac glycoside (digoxin), immunosuppressant (mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus), antibiotic (amoxicillin, clarithromycin).

Drug-Food Interactions: No interactions found/established.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, epilepsy, mania, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD), hyperprolactinemia (high levels of prolactin), bone fractures, or hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium).

General Instructions

  • Take ETHRAB - LSR Capsule at the prescribed time every day.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking while using this medication as they can exacerbate gastrointestinal symptoms.
  • Do not stop taking the capsule suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may worsen symptoms.
  • Follow a balanced diet and drink plenty of water during treatment to support overall digestive health.
